Chalakuzhy Paulose Mathen

Chalakuzhy Poulose Matthen or C. P. Matthen, (1890–1960) was the pioneer Banker in Kerala, the south western state of India. He was the founder-director of the Quilon Bank Ltd. This bank merged with The Travancore National Bank in 1937, to form The Travancore National and Quilon Bank. C.P. Matthen became the Managing director and K. C. C. P. Ramaswamy Iyer, the Diwan of Travancore, targeted C.P. Matthen. His bank was liquidated on grounds that were subsequently proved to be unfounded and he was incarcerated in Thiruvananthapuram from 1939 to 1941.〔Sir C.P.
